Chairwoman Castro on the Small Business Initiative (Castro)

Just today, we announced the implementation of our Small Business Initiative Program. There is now a point person with knowledge of the rules covering small businesses in every District office, for businesses to contact when they have questions. The Small Business section of the EEOC s web page has been redesigned to have more information, and is now both clearer and more user- friendly. I encourage you to visit it. Every charge notice given to small businesses will now also be accompanied by an easily understood fact sheet in plain language. District offices have been asked to include small businesses in their individual outreach plans. And finally, to increase employer awareness of employment issues from the outset, our TAPS seminars are being reconfigured to address the special needs of smaller businesses. As you can see, the EEOC has certainly been on the move.
