The Bureau of the Census rounds the Civilian Labor Force numbers to tenths of one percent. Percentages may not add to 100% due to rounding and the additional multi-race category in the 2000 Census Special EEO file.
The 2000
Census race and ethnicity categories follow standards created by
the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in 1997 which include
five racial categories with reporting of multiple races. However,
this report uses data collected under OMB's1977 standards that
included four racial categories with no reporting of multiple
races. Therefore, EEOC has bridged the categories developed under
the revised 1997 standards to the categories contained in the 1977
standards. For specific guidance please refer to "EEOC's General
Guidance on Combining and Bridging Race and Ethnic Categories from
the Special EEO File" at
http://www.eeoc.gov/stats/census/race_ethnic_data.html. For further information, see Office of Management and Budget,
"Provisional Guidance on the Implementation of the 1997 Standards
for Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity" (December 15,
2000).
