Student Volunteer Internship Program (SVSIP)

About the Program: The SVSIP is designed to provide educationally-related work assignments for students in a non-pay status. The acceptance of student volunteer service enables EEOC to contribute significantly to the enrichment of educational programs.

What to Expect : The interns will be provided opportunities, based on their placement, to become involved in a number of EEOC functions: the investigative process, mediation, the federal EEO hearings process, outreach and technical assistance, and litigation. The student volunteer will work under the supervision of the supervisor of the ATDO unit to which he or she is assigned. The student will be given specific duties to perform such as drafting charges of discrimination, developing investigatory plans, conducting witness interviews and researching issues.

How to Apply:

  1. Applications for summer internship must be submitted by March 1.
  2. Applications for during the school year may be submitted at any time.
  3. To apply submit a resume or complete Optional Application for Federal Employment (OF 612).
  4. Submit a copy of your most recent college transcript or grade record and a reference from a teacher/professor/advisor.
