EEOC LOOKING FOR VIDEO PRODUCTION INTERNS WITH NEW/SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE

Interested in civil rights? Want to get inside experience in a fast-paced federal government Communications shop? Do you have video editing, production and voice over experience? The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which enforces the nation's laws against workplace discrimination, is looking for either a student intern for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 in its Communications and Legislative Affairs (OCLA) division located at agency headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The ideal candidate is a well-organized self-starter with outstanding video editing and production skills, along with superior verbal and written communications skills. They will help deliver a variety of short and long-term projects focusing on both Communications and Legislative issues relevant to the work of EEOC. The Intern will become a member of the OCLA team and will learn about:

  • The history and mission of EEOC
  • The laws EEOC enforces
  • How we are organized
  • The relationship between EEOC and the Congress

Working with the communications team, this person will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Producing short video clips for posting on EEOC's YOUTUBE channel and for other EEOC outreach efforts to include Facebook and Twitter
  • Writing and editing copy for eventual use in video productions
  • Assisting with media coordination for Commission meetings and other EEOC media interviews

You should have a comprehensive knowledge of video production technology, graphics, video production experience using a Mac and compatible equipment (IMOVIE). Experience creating infographics would be a plus. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

EEOC's headquarters are half a block from the NoMa-Gallaudet stop on Metro's Red Line at 131 M Street NE. We offer flexible hours, transportation subsidies and great work environment. The internships are unpaid, but you will gain significant experience and build your resume.
