EEOC Celebrates 50 Years of Civil Rights Work - Little Rock

Little Rock Area Office Hosting Open House

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Little Rock Area Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) invites the public to attend an open house on July 22 to celebrate the civil rights agency's 50th anniversary.

WHEN: July 22, 2015 from 1:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m.
WHERE: EEOC Little Rock Area Office, 820 S. Louisiana St., St. 200, Little Rock, Ark.

The public will be able to meet and speak with the staff and celebrate the agency's accomplishments, including the ongoing work of EEOC and the challenges it faces in the 21st century.  The theme for the event is "Celebrating the EEOC's 50th Anniversary for Justice and Equality in the Workplace." Refreshments will be provided. On-street parking is available surrounding the building.

EEOC was created by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which was signed on July 2, 1964, and the agency began operation one year later, on July 2, 1965.
