2020 EEO-3 Data Collection

Update:  New Scheduled Opening of 2020 EEO-3 Data Collection

After delaying the opening of the 2020 EEO-3 Data Collection on May 8, 2020 in light of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency, the EEOC is pleased to announce the 2020 EEO-3 Data Collection is now on schedule to open in 2021. 

The 2020 EEO-3 Data Collection is scheduled to open August 2021.  Filers should begin preparing to submit data in anticipation of the August 2021 opening.

The precise opening date of the collection, as well as the new submission deadline date, will be announced by posting a notice on the EEOC’s home page at as well as on the new dedicated website for the EEOC’s data collections at  As in previous years, a notification letter will also be sent to eligible filers. When the collection opens, resources to assist filers with their submissions will be available online at  The EEOC Filer Support Team will also be available to respond to filer inquiries and to provide additional filling assistance.

As part of its mandate under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission requires periodic reports from all Local Union which indicate the composition for their work forces by sex and by race/ethnic category.

EEOC collects labor force data from Local Referral Unions with 100 or more employees within 50 U.S. states and District of Columbia. The reporting provides information on their employment totals, employees' job category and sex and race/ethnic groups as of  December 31 of the preceding year of the data collection year. The EEO-3 Data Collection is conducted biennially in every even-numbered year.

The 2018 Local Report (EEO-3) is CLOSED. The filing deadline was December 31, 2018.
