EEOC Seeks Public Input on Revised Enforcement Guidance on Religious Discrimination

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) announced today that it is seeking public input on its updated Compliance Manual Section on Religious Discrimination (“Manual”). The updated guidance describes in what ways Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII) protects individuals from religious discrimination in the workplace and sets forth the legal protections available to religious employers.

EEOC Votes to Publish Compliance Manual on Religious Discrimination for Public Comment

EEOC to Hold Remote Public Meeting on November 9

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will hold a Commission meeting on Monday, Nov. 9, at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). Because of the COVID-19 pandemic it will be a remote, audio-only meeting.

EEOC Sues Quest Diagnostics for Religious Discrimination

EEOC Sues United Airlines for Religious Discrimination

Jet Propulsion Laboratory to Pay $10 Million to Settle EEOC Age Discrimination Lawsuit

LOS ANGELES – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today the settlement of an age discrimination lawsuit against Pasadena, Calif.-based Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Albertsons to Pay $210,000 to Settle EEOC National Origin Discrimination Lawsuit

SAN DIEGO – Albertsons LLC, a national retail grocery chain, has agreed to pay $210,000 to settle a class national origin discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

Commissioners Vote to Approve Compliance Manual Rescissions and Opinion Letter During Public Meeting

Sunridge Nurseries Settles Discrimination Lawsuit

FRESNO - Sunridge Nurseries, Inc., a grower in the grapevine nursery stock industry, has agreed to pay $237,500 to settle a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today. 

The EEOC's lawsuit alleged that Sunridge failed to re-hire a group of Filipino seasonal farm workers in retaliation for having complained about national origin/race discrimination. Some of these workers were long term employees.
