Most Valuable Personnel and MVP Workforce to Pay $568,500 To Settle EEOC Race and Sex Discrimination Suit

CHICAGO – Personnel Staffing Group, LLC, doing business as Most Valuable Personnel (MVP), and MVP Workforce, LLC will pay $568,500 to resolve a race and sex discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

Rosebud Restaurants To Pay $160,000 To Settle EEOC Sexual Harassment And Retaliation Lawsuit

Rosebud Restaurants, Inc. will pay $160,000 to settle a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today. The EEOC's lawsuit charged Rosebud, which owns approximately nine Italian restaurants in the Chicagoland area, with violating federal civil rights laws when it subjected two women to sexual harassment, and fired one of the women after she complained about the harassment and objected to employees referring to African-Americans by racial slurs.

EEOC Sues City Sports for Race And  National Origin Discrimination

City Sports, a chain of sports fashion stores with over 20 locations in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, violated federal civil rights laws by failing to hire and promote African-Americans and Hispanics into management positions in favor of hiring Koreans to fill management roles, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today. City Sports also subjected three black salespeople to harassment because of their race, the EEOC charged.

Federal Court Approves EEOC Subpoena in Investigation of Giant Milwaukee Indian Casino

On May 6, U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman approved the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's application to enforce a subpoena against Potawatomi Bingo Casino in Milwaukee, the federal agency announced today.  The ruling allows the EEOC to proceed with its investigation of an age discrimination charge filed against the casino by former employee Federico Colón.  The casino is located near downtown Milwaukee and has more than 3,000 employees.

EEOC Sues DHL for Segregating Employees by Race

CHICAGO - The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today filed a race discrimination lawsuit against DHL Express, Inc. on behalf of a class of African-American employees who were given different job assignments because of their race.  The EEOC received more than 20 charges of discrimination against DHL alleging that the shipping and delivery giant discriminated against black workers.

Women Rejected for Jobs at Armour Sausage Plant Because of ‘Strength Test’
