Michael J. Eastman Senior Vice President Policy and Assistant General Counsel Center for Workplace Compliance

Meeting of November 20, 2019 - EEOC Convenes Public Hearing on the Proposed Revision of the Employer Information Report (EEO-1)

Mike Eastman joined the Center for Workplace Compliance in 2012 and serves as the association's senior vice president for policy and assistant general counsel. Mr. Eastman has more than 25 years of experience in labor and employment policy and has been a leader representing the business community in numerous high-profile public policy debates as well as nuanced and detailed negotiations.

Mike regularly writes about compliance with employment law and policy development including CWC memoranda, regulatory comments, and compliance guides. He is a frequent speaker on employment policy and has testified before Congress and federal enforcement agencies. Mike's insights have frequently appeared in national news publications and major media outlets. 

Before joining CWC, Mike served as executive director of labor policy for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and he currently serves as a member of the Chamber's Labor Relations Committee. Earlier, Mike practiced labor and employment law and worked on Capitol Hill. 

In addition to his work at CWC, Mike is a partner with the Washington, D.C. law firm NT Lakis, where he advises employers and associations on a broad range of employment-related matters and public policy advocacy. He is also a senior consultant with Employment Advisory Services, Inc., a human resources consulting firm, were he assists large employers develop and implement compliance and risk management programs. 

Mike received his BA in psychology from Colgate University and his JD from George Mason University. He is admitted to the bars of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
