History of the EEOC

Congress established the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to enforce Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. With headquarters in Washington, D.C., and 53 field offices nationwide, EEOC is the Federal Government's premier civil rights agency.
