Please be advised that, you have the option to schedule a telephone interview, an interview by video with an EEOC representative, or an in-person interview at our office.  Individuals who come into the office without an appointment will be screened for appropriate follow-up. Scheduling an interview is strongly recommended and individuals with appointments will be given priority.  

You are encouraged to visit the EEOC Public Portal (https://publicportal.eeoc.gov/) to schedule an intake appointment by telephone, by video or in-person.   The system can also be accessed by going directly to our website at https://www.eeoc.gov/

There are strict deadlines for filing a charge of discrimination, please review the information in the timeliness tab or call 1-800-669-4000. 

For individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, you can reach EEOC by videophone at 1-844-234-5122. If you have a disability which prevents you from accessing the Public Portal or you otherwise have difficulty with accessing the portal, please call 1-800-669-4000.

The Richmond Local Office is open to the public for walk-ins Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Individuals who come into the office without an interview appointment will be screened for appropriate follow-up. If staffing levels permit, walk-in interviews may be available in certain circumstances, but scheduling an interview is strongly recommended, and individuals with appointments or with an imminent filing deadline will be given priority.

You are encouraged to visit the EEOC Public Portal (https://publicportal.eeoc.gov/) to schedule an intake interview using the options for either an in-person; telephone or virtual (computer) appointment. For individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, you can reach EEOC by videophone at 1-844-234-5122.  If you have a disability which prevents you from accessing the Public Portal or you have difficulty with accessing the portal, please call 1-800-669-4000. If you wish to come into the office for an in-person interview rather than participating in an interview via telephone or remotely via video, please be aware that due to staffing limitations, in-person office interviews may only be available on certain days.

The Richmond Local Office is located in the Federal Building at 400 N. Eight Street, Suite 350 Richmond, VA 23219. Paid parking garages are located near the Federal Building in which the office is located but parking is not provided or validated by the EEOC.

You will need to have valid picture identification to enter the Federal Building.
