Martinez Animal Hospital to Pay $20,000 to Settle EEOC Retaliation Charge

MARTINEZ, Calif. – Martinez Animal Hospital agreed to provide $20,000 to a former employee following an investigation by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

According to the EEOC’s investigation, the hospital subjected an employee to mandatory training which he objected to because it incorporated religious content contrary to his beliefs; he also requested to be excused from any future trainings with similar content. EEOC Sues HCA Healthcare and Two of its Divisions for Race, National Origin, Age Discrimination and Retaliation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – HCA Healthcare, Inc. (and its divisions Tennessee Healthcare Management, Inc. and GME Overhead), a for-profit corporation headquartered in Nashville, providing graduate medical education in over 2,300 health care facilities, violated federal law by refusing to promote an employee because of his age, race and national origin, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.
