Corning to Pay $120,000 to Settle EEOC Sex Discrimination Case

NEW YORK – Corning Incorporated will pay $120,000 and furnish other relief to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

According to the EEOC’s lawsuit, Corning violated federal law by failing to promote female “process assistants” (machine operators) at its Sullivan Park and Big Flats locations in southern central New York.

EEOC Sues Elderwood at Burlington for Racial Harassment

BURLINGTON, Vt. – 98 Starr Road Operating Co., LLC, doing business as Elderwood at Burlington, a large long-term care facility located in Burlington, Vermont, violated federal law by allowing black nurses and nurse assistants to be subjected to ongoing and egregious racial harassment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.
