Appeals Court Affirms Jury Verdict of over  $1.5 Million in EEOC Sexual Harassment and Retaliation Suit Against New Breed Logistics

A federal appeals court has refused to grant New Breed Logistics' petition for rehearing of a decision in favor of the U.S. Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.  The denial of the petition upholds a jury verdict of over $1.5 million in EEOC's lawsuit against the High Point, N.C.-based logistics services provider for sexual harassment and retaliation against three temporary female employees.  New Breed had petitioned the full panel of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to rehear the case.

A federal appeals court has upheld a jury verdict of over $1.5 million in the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC's) lawsuit against a High Point, N.C.-based logistics services provider for sexual harassment and retaliation, the federal agency announced today.  The EEOC had charged the company with subjecting three temporary female employees to sexual harassment and retaliation against them for complaining, as well as against a male employee who supported the women's claims.

Jury Awards over $1.5 Million in EEOC Sexual Harassment and Retaliation Case Against Mid-American Specialties

A U.S. District Court jury brought in a verdict of over $1.5 million for sexual harassment and retaliation in the U.S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC's) lawsuit against Mid-American Specialties (Mid- American), a Memphis-based company that distributes promotional products and office supplies, the agency announced today.  The verdict came after a trial presided over by Chief Judge Jon P. McCalla.  The actual jury award included more than $400,000 in compensatory damages and back pay to three women and $1.1 million in punitive damages.

Courtesy Building Services Sued by EEOC for Sexual Harassment

Courtesy Building Services, a janitorial and maintenance service located in West Dallas with an office in Fort Worth, violated federal law by subjecting a female employee to sexual harassment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit announced today.  The EEOC alleges that as part of the unlawful work environment, the employee was pressured to marry a stranger from Thailand to promote his efforts toward citizenship.
