United Airlines to Pay $99,000 in EEOC Discrimination Case

DENVER — United Airlines, Inc. a Delaware corporation with a major hub at Denver International Airport, will pay $99,000 and provide other relief to settle a federal lawsuit for a hostile work environment based on race and national origin, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today.

EEOC Sues Mile Hi Companies for Unlawfully Discriminating Against Job Applicants

DENVER – Mile Hi Companies, a group of businesses that distribute food and paper products, violated federal law when it issued and followed discriminatory hiring directives, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed yesterday.

According to the lawsuit, Mile Hi unlawfully denied employment opportunities to Black, female, and Afghan job applicants. The discriminatory directives came from the highest executive and included a handwritten note from the CEO not to hire

Taos Hotel Formerly Known as Whitten Inn and its Successor Settle EEOC Race and National Origin Harassment Suit

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Roark-Whitten Hospitality 2, LP, doing business as the Whitten Inn, and its successor purchaser of the hotel SGI, LLC, will pay $87,000 to settle a long-fought lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charging color, race, and national origin harassment, the federal agency announced. The money will be paid as compensatory damages to the aggrieved individuals harmed by the discrimination.
