Pizza Hut Franchisee Ayvaz to Pay $35,000 in EEOC Sex-Based Harassment and Retaliation Suit

HOUSTON – Ayvaz Pizza, LLC, doing business as Pizza Hut, which operates more than 350 Pizza Hut restaurants around the country, including multiple locations in the Houston area, will pay $35,000 and furnish other relief to settle a sex harassment and retaliation lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

EEOC Sues Pizza Hut for Sex-Based Harassment and Retaliation

HOUSTON – Ayvaz Pizza, LLC, doing business as Pizza Hut, which operates more than 350 Pizza Hut restaurants in ten states and multiple locations in the Houston area, violated federal law when it subjected a female employee to sex-based harassment and retaliation, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.

Restaurant Admits to Pregnancy Discrimination and Pays $30,000 to Resolve EEOC Lawsuit

NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana restaurant admitted that it violated federal law when it fired and then later refused to rehire a worker because she was pregnant as part of federal court resolution with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the EEOC announced today. 

Bourne’s House, LLC, doing business as Bourne’s House Restaurant in Franklinton, Louisiana, and the EEOC resolved the pregnancy discrimination lawsuit through a consent decree, which was approved on May 26, 2022
