Diallo's Of Houston Sued by EEOC For  Disability Discrimination

Diallo's, a Houston-area nightclub and party venue, violated federal anti-discrimination laws when it forced an employee to provide medical documentation to prove that she was not HIV-positive, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today. When the employee failed to provide the documentation, she was unlawfully fired, EEOC said.

EEOC to Collect Summary Pay Data

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today announced that starting March 2018, it will collect summary employee pay data from certain employers. The new data will improve investigations of possible pay discrimination, which remains a contributing factor to persistent wage gaps. The summary pay data will be added to the annual Employer Information Report or EEO-1 report that is coordinated by the EEOC and the Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). OFCCP collects data from federal contractors and subcontractors.

The owner/operator and management company for a Columbus Texas Roadhouse restaurant will pay $1.4 million and furnish significant equitable relief to settle a class sexual harassment suit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today. EEOC had charged East Columbus Host, LLC and management company Ultra Steak, Inc. with victimizing a group of female employees as young as 17 years old by subjecting them to sexual harassment and then retaliating against them for complaining.
