DHL Global Sued by EEOC for Harassment and Intimidation of Hispanic Workers, Retaliation

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced today that it has filed suit against DHL Global Forwarding for subjecting a class of Hispanic employees to national origin discrimination.  The EEOC's suit also alleges that DHL Global unlawfully retaliated against a non-Hispanic employee by firing him for reporting the treatment of Hispanic employees.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has filed a lawsuit against Senior Living Properties, L.L.C., d/b/a Sweetwater Healthcare Center, a company that owns 35 senior assisted living facilities in Texas, charging that the company refused to accommodate the religious beliefs of a dietary supervisor. Sweetwater Healthcare Center fired the employee after she told a new company administrator that her religious observances precluded her from working on Sundays.

DXP Enterprises Sued By EEOC For Disability And Age Discrimination

DXP Enterprises, Inc., doing business as DXP Safety Alliance, Inc., violated federal law by subjecting a Farmington, New Mexico woman to disability and age discrimination. In its lawsuit, filed on Sept. 22, 2011, the EEOC said the company fired Connie Brooks because it regarded her as disabled because of a prior back injury, and references were also made to Ms. Brooks' age, 52.

EEOC Sues Staffing Agency for Sex Harassment, Retaliation, and Assigning Workers Based on Sex

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") filed a class lawsuit yesterday alleging that Source One Staffing, Inc. ("Source One") assigned female employees to a known hostile work environment and retaliated against two female employees who reported that their supervisor was making sexual advances toward them.  The EEOC also claims that Source One categorized jobs as "men's work" or "women's work" and assigned employees accordingly.
