EEOC TO HOLD NATIONAL FEDERAL SECTOR LAW CONFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS

EEOC Chair Cari Dominguez to Address Hundreds of     Federal Officials at National EXCEL Program Aug. 30 - Sept. 2

                                     

WASHINGTON  The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will hold its annual federal sector EXCEL program for government employees, managers, and union officials from August 30 through September 2, 2004, at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

   

EXCEL is the EEOC's premier federal sector law conference of its kind and provides an interactive educational forum for examining contemporary leadership, effective and low-cost dispute resolution approaches, and other equal employment opportunity and merit systems issues and trends nationwide.  EEOC Chair Cari M. Dominguez will speak at the conference, which includes presentations by top-ranking officials from more than 10 other federal agencies, EEOC staff, and other subject matter experts.  The conference theme is: New Realities and Opportunities in the 21st Century Federal Workplace.

 

Conference issues include, but are not limited to: managing diversity and EEO complaints; new management directives on affirmative employment; the "No Fear Act" regulations;  workplace violence; recruiting; EEO accountability; retaliation; investigations; trends in government employment; the Americans with Disabilities Act; and Merit System Protection Board and EEOC policies and case updates.  The national conference is presented by EEOC's Baltimore, Cleveland, Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia District Offices, and the EEOC's Office of Federal Operations, with support from headquarters staff in Washington, D.C.  For further information or to register for EXCEL, you may e-mail eeoc.traininginstitute@eeoc.gov or go to the EEOC Training Institute's web site at http://www.eeotraining.eeoc.gov.
