Jury Awards Over $125 Million in EEOC Disability Discrimination Case Against Walmart

CHICAGO – An eight-member jury in Green Bay, Wisconsin returned a verdict of $125,150,000 in favor of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on three claims of disability discrimination against Walmart, the federal agency announced today.  

The jury found that the retailer failed to accommodate Marlo Spaeth, a longtime employee with Down syndrome, and then fired her in July 2015 because of her disability.

EEOC Sues Long John Silver’s for Sexual Harassment and Retaliation

CHICAGO – Long John Silver’s violated federal law when it subjected female employees at its Centralia, Ill., restaurant to sexual harassment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today. Jury in EEOC Suit Finds that RockAuto Discriminated Against Applicant Because of His Age

Lake States Lumber to Pay $100,000 to Settle EEOC Disability Discrimination Suit

EEOC Releases UPS from Future Consent Decree Reporting Obligations

CHICAGO – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has, with court approval, released United Parcel Services, Inc. (UPS) from its remaining obligations under a consent decree that in 2017 settled a lawsuit filed by the agency alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
