Don’s Specialty Meats to Pay $67,500 to Resolve EEOC Lawsuit

NEW ORLEANS – Don’s Specialty Meats, Inc., a food preparer and retailer in Scott and Carencro, Louisiana, has agreed to pay a former employee $67,500 to settle a lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. The lawsuit was resolved through a consent decree, which U.S. District Judge Michael J. Juneau approved on January 14, 2022.

Car Dealer to Pay $100,000 to Resolve EEOC Lawsuit Alleging Disability Discrimination

NEW ORLEANS. – Hollingsworth Richards, LLC, doing business as Honda of Covington, has agreed to pay a former sales representative $100,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. Hollingsworth Richards operates vehicle and equipment dealerships in Covington, Louisiana. The lawsuit was resolved through a consent decree, which U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman approved on January 4, 2022.

NEW ORLEANS – Shreveport, La.-based Willis-Knighton Medical Center, a health services provider, has agreed to pay $450,000 to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

NEW ORLEANS – Bourne’s House, LLC, doing business as Bourne’s House Restaurant, violated federal law when it fired and then later refused to rehire a worker because she was pregnant, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed September 8, 2021.
