Fairbanks Ranch Country Club Settles EEOC Sexual Harassment Lawsuit for $125,000

Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, Inc., one of two entities the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed suit against alleging the sexual harassment of and retaliation against female employees, will pay $125,000 and provide other relief to settle the lawsuit, the agency announced today. Co-defendant Bay Club Fairbanks Ranch, LLC assumed full control of Fairbanks Ranch Country Club in 2015. The EEOC's lawsuit against Bay Club Fairbanks Ranch, LLC continues.

USAble Life, an insurance company located in Little Rock, Ark., violated federal law when it fired an employee for complaining about discrimination related to her pregnancy and her disability, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today. Founded in 2005 by two Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) organizations, USAble Life serves BCBS plans across the country, providing specialty insurance programs to BCBS's health insur­ance programs.

La Cantera Resort and Spa to Pay Over $2.5 Million to Settle EEOC National Origin Discrimination Suit

The former operators of the La Cantera Resort and Spa have agreed to pay $2,625,000 to settle a national origin discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC's lawsuit alleged that the operators of the La Cantera Resort and Spa in San Antonio violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by subjecting Hispanic banquet staff to a hostile work environment based on their national origin and by retaliating against workers who opposed a restrictive language policy.

Pei Wei Asian Diner, LLC, doing business as Pei Wei Fresh Kitchen in Little Rock Ark., violated federal law when it subjected a class of female teens and young adults to sexual harassment and a sexually hostile work environment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commis­sion (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit announced today. The sexual harassment, committed by the male general manager and the male kitchen manager, forced two of the discrimination victims to resign, the EEOC said.

The EEOC also charged Sikorsky with refusing to hire a temporary employee because of her race and in retaliation for complaints about the racial harassment.
