EEOC Chair Yang, Labor Secretary Perez, and Transportation Secretary Foxx to Speak at  Annual Excel Conference

August 10-13, Washington, D.C., Event Highlights EEOC's 50th Anniversary

WASHINGTON - U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx will join Jenny R. Yang, Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in addressing participants at EEOC's 18th annual EXCEL conference, August 10 - 13 in Washington, D.C.

EXCEL, which stands for Examining Conflicts in Employment Laws, is EEOC's premier training event for professionals working to prevent employment discrimination in the public and private sectors. Its nationally recognized speakers, hands-on workshops, comprehensive education sessions, and much-anticipated networking opportunities are designed specifically for EEO managers, supervisors, and practitioners; HR professionals; attorneys; and alternative dispute resolution specialists. In commemoration of the agency's 50th anniversary, the theme of this year's EXCEL conference is: The EEOC @ 50: Building on a Legacy, Looking to Future Innovation.

In addition to Chair Yang, Secretary Foxx, and Secretary Perez, this year's EXCEL participants will hear from:

  • EEOC Commissioners Chai Feldblum and Victoria Lipnic
  • Charlayne Hunter-Gault, award-winning journalist, author, and the first African-American woman to attend the University of Georgia
  • Aneesh Chopra, former U.S. chief technology officer, author, and co-founder of Hunch Analytics
