A refrigerated transport carrier that services major companies in need of over-the-road trucking violated federal law by discriminating against an applicant based on his disability, paraplegia, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today filed suit against Kids R Us LLC, which owns and operates several childcare facilities in Oklahoma, for discriminating against an employee because she was pregnant and for retaliating against her and her sister and cousin.

EEOC Sues Senior Assisted Living Company for Religious Discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has filed a lawsuit against Senior Living Properties, L.L.C., d/b/a Sweetwater Healthcare Center, a company that owns 35 senior assisted living facilities in Texas, charging that the company refused to accommodate the religious beliefs of a dietary supervisor. Sweetwater Healthcare Center fired the employee after she told a new company administrator that her religious observances precluded her from working on Sundays.

EEOC Sues Family Dollar Store of Virginia for Sexual Harassment

Family Dollar Services, Inc. violated federal law by subjecting one of its female employees to sexual harassment at one of its retail store locations, forcing her to resign from her employment, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges in a lawsuit filed today.  The store involved in the lawsuit is located in Richmond, Va.  According to company information, Family Dollar operates approximately 7,000 retail stores throughout 44 states.

Federal Court Denies Motion for Summary Judgment on EEOC Race Harassment and Discrimination Claims Against WRS Compass

U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has denied WRS Compass's motion of summary judgment on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's (EEOC) racial harassment and discrimination claims for seven former African-American employees, the agency announced today.  The court also denied summary judgment on the EEOC's retaliation claim for a former white employee who complained of discrimination.
