EEOC To Host 45th Anniversary Event In Los Angeles With OFCCP

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), along with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), will co-host an event in Pasadena, Calif. to commemorate the 45 th anniversary of both the EEOC and OFCCP.

The event, to be held at the Western Justice Center, will highlight the accomplishments of both agencies, with the litigation program being the focus of the EEOC’s celebration. The agencies’ senior leadership – EEOC Chair Jacqueline A. Berrien, EEOC General Counsel P. David Lopez and OFCCP Director Patricia A. Shiu – will kick off the event along with Judge Richard A. Paez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Former victims of discrimination will share their stories, and representatives from community-based organizations will be featured, while a performance by the International Children’s Choir of Long Beach is sure to inspire. A tour of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is also available following the program. The event is free and open to the public.
