EEOC Sues UPS for Religious Discrimination

The nation's largest package delivery company violated federal law by discriminating against applicants and employees around the country whose religious practices conflicted with its uniform and appearance policy, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today.

Rehabilitation Facility Agrees to Pay $55,000 to Settle EEOC Discrimination Suit

Alden Estates of Naperville, Inc. will pay $55,000 to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  EEOC's suit had alleged that Alden fired its admissions director while she was out on a medical leave of absence, one week before she was able to return to work.  Alden Estates of Naperville, Inc. provides transitional care and rehabilitation services to patients in the western suburbs of Chicago.
