Justice Department Files Lawsuit Alleging that Southeastern Oklahoma State University Discriminated Against Transgender Woman

The Justice Department announced today the filing of a lawsuit against Southeastern Oklahoma State University (Southeastern) and the Regional University System of Oklahoma (RUSO) for violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by discriminating against a transgender employee on the basis of her sex and retaliating against her when she complained about the discrimination.

Shefa Wellness Center Sued by EEOC for  Pregnancy Discrimination

CFS Health Management Inc., d/b/a Shefa Wellness Center, a Canton, Ga.,  medical practice specializing in cosmetic skin care treatments, violated federal law by firing a newly hired licensed skin care therapist shortly after learning that she was pregnant, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it recently filed.

Windmill Farms Nurseries to Pay $40,000 to Settle EEOC Sexual Harassment Lawsuit and Retaliation

Windmill Farms Nurseries, Inc., a plant material wholesaler and nursery located in Zolfo Springs, Fla., will pay $40,000 and furnish other relief to settle a sexual harass­ment lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today. The EEOC charged the company with subjecting a female employee, Sheila Aguilar, to sexual harassment and retaliation by her immediate supervisor, crew leader Alvaro DeSantiago.

EEOC Seeks Public Input on Plan to Review its Significant Regulations

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today that it is inviting the public to provide input on its ongoing review of significant existing EEOC regulations to determine whether they should be modified, streamlined, expanded, or repealed.  The review is conducted pursuant to Executive Order (EO) 13563, "Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review," found at 76 Fed. Reg. 3821 (Jan. 21, 2011).  Comments may be submitted to Public.Comments.RegulatoryReview@eeoc.gov through April 20, 2015.
