Ranir LLC Settles EEOC Reasonable Accommodation Suit

A Grand Rapids, Mich. dental products manufacturer settled a disability discrimination lawsuit brought by U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC had charged that Ranir, LLC unlawfully failed to provide a reasonable accommodation to an employee with severe arthritis in her knee, leading to her discharge.

EEOC Sues Dart Energy and J&R Well Services for Race / National Origin Discrimination, Retaliation

A Michigan-based energy company and its Wyoming subsidiary violated federal law against race and national origin harassment and retaliation, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed yesterday.  The EEOC charged that Dart Energy Corp., headquartered in Mason, Mich., and its subsidiary J&R Well Services, LLC, which operates an oil and gas well service business in Wyoming, created a hostile work environment for a group of black, Hispanic and Native American employees.  Further, the EEOC said, the companies fired some of these employees because of their race/national origin and/or because they complained about the discrimination.

EEOC's Philadelphia District Office and Mexican Consulate Sign Historic Outreach Agreement

The Philadelphia District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia today.  The agreement establishes an ongoing collaborative relationship between these two entities to provide Mexican nationals with information, guidance, and access to resources on the prevention of discrimination in the workplace, regardless of documentation status.  Mexican Consul Carlos I. Giralt Cabrales and Spencer H. Lewis, Jr., director of the EEOC's Philadelphia District Office, signed the agreement.
