EEOC Sues Leona's Pizzeria for Breach of Conciliation Agreement

Leona's Pizzeria, Inc. has refused to abide by the terms of a conciliation agreement reached with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to resolve a class-wide sexual harassment finding, according to a lawsuit filed by the federal agency in court today.

Seventh Circuit Revives EEOC Disability Discrimination Lawsuit

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit reversed the dismissal of a disability discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) against airline giant United Airlines Inc. The circuit court overturned precedent to agree with the EEOC that "reasonable accommodation" as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) may require employers to provide employees with disabilities with "reassignment to a vacant position" when the employee cannot be accommodated in his or her current position.

Charlotte-based Bojangles' Restaurants, Inc. has agreed to pay $33,426 and provide substantial additional relief to settle a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the agency announced today.  The EEOC had charged that an employee at a Greensboro Bojangles' was sexually harassed and then fired for complaining about it.

UPS Sued by EEOC for National Origin and Religious Harassment

Global shipping company UPS violated federal law when it allowed supervisors and coworkers to discriminate against and harass an employee for being Arab and Muslim, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.  The suit also alleged UPS illegally retaliated against the worker after he reported the harassment to the company, his union and the EEOC.
