Spectrum Bags, Inc. Sued By EEOC For Sexual Harassment And Retaliation

Spectrum Bags, Inc., a California-based manufacturer of grocery bags, restaurant carry-out bags and retail-store shopping bags, violated federal law by subjecting female employees to a sexually hostile work environment at its Southaven warehouse and firing those who complained about it, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a discrimination lawsuit it filed today.

EEOC Sues C.G.D. Developers For Race Discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced that it filed a race discrimination lawsuit today against C.G.D. Developers, Inc. for subjecting a black employee to a hostile work environment because of his race, at its facility in Gaffney, S.C. and various worksites where the employee, Joe M. Wheeler, was assigned. CGD is a South Carolina corporation and employed approximately 20 employees at the time of the harassment.

Longs Drugs Sued By EEOC For Race And Gender Discrimination, Retaliation

Longs Drugs violated federal law by discriminating against an African-American female employee and firing her shortly after she reported the discrimination to human resources, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a class sexual harassment lawsuit in federal district court on September 27, 2010 against Jimmy's Charhouse of Elgin, Inc. The suit was filed on behalf of a class of women subjected to sexually derogatory comments and names, sexual propositions, and physical touching by co-workers and managers. The suit also alleges that some of the women were terminated in retaliation for opposing and complaining about the sexually hostile work environment.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed a lawsuit today charging that global plastics manufacturerPromens, Inc., formerly known as Bonar Plastics, Inc., violated federal law by sexually harassing female employees and retaliating against employees who complained. The EEOC also asserted that the company segregated employees by sex in that it assigned women and men to different departments of its West Chicago facility. The molding department to which women were assigned paid lower wages and provided employees with less opportunity for advancement than other jobs at the facility.
