Recruitment / Hiring

  • The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal sector employers nationwide with highly motivated postsecondary students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to prove their abilities in the workplace through summer or permanent jobs. Trained WRP recruiters from federal agencies conduct personal interviews with interested students on college and university campuses across the country. Students represent all majors, and range from college freshmen to graduate students and law students. Information from these interviews is compiled in a searchable database that is available through the WRP website. WRP is ready to help you fill your summer or permanent hiring needs! Further information about WRP can be found at
  • The Employer Assistance & Recruiting Network (EARN) is a free Federal Government resource that educates public and private sector employers about the value of recruiting, hiring, retaining, and advancing people with disabilities. Resources include an online training center on disability employment and inclusion, information on the Federal Exchange on Employment & Disability (FEED), and a framework of federal agency disability inclusion strategies. Further information about EARN can be found at

Federal Resources

There are numerous federal programs designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities in finding employment. The following is a non-exhaustive list of programs/resources:

  • Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP)
Housed within the Department of Defense, CAP provides assistive technology and services to people with disabilities throughout the federal government FREE OF CHARGE! CAP will do the needs assessment, buy the needed technology, train the employee on how to use it, and follow up with updates. In other words, CAP assesses, buys and trains - all you have to do is ask! Further information about CAP can be found at
  • Job Accommodation Network (JAN)
JAN is a terrific and easy-to-use resource. JAN's mission is to facilitate the employment and retention of workers with disabilities. This free consulting service is designed to increase the employability of people with disabilities. JAN provides individualized worksite accommodation solutions, as well as information on job accommodations and related subjects for employers and people with disabilities. JAN represents the most comprehensive resource for job accommodations available. JAN's work has greatly enhanced the job opportunities of people with disabilities by providing information on job accommodations since 1984. Additional information about JAN can be found at
