Marcus G. Keegan Appointed as Regional Attorney for EEOC’s Atlanta District Office

WASHINGTON -- Marcus G. Keegan has been appointed regional attorney for the Atlanta District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.

Keegan brings with him nearly two decades of litigation experience and has a comprehensive understanding of employment law, having represented employees and employers in discrimination matters. He began his legal career as a trial attorney at the Atlanta District Office. He entered private practice in 2004 and founded his own law firm in 2009.

Keegan has been recognized as a leader in the employment law community, serving as an executive committee member for the Labor and Employment Law section of the State Bar of Georgia and on the board of directors of both the national and Georgia chapters of the National Employment Law Association. He is a frequent lecturer on employment law topics.

“I am excited to rejoin the EEOC and look forward to continuing the important work of protecting employee rights,” said Keegan.

EEOC General Counsel Sharon Fast Gustafson said, “Mr. Keegan brings not only litigation experience with both plaintiffs and employers, but also a knowledge of and history with the EEOC itself. I am pleased to welcome him as Atlanta’s regional attorney.”

The EEOC advances opportunity in the workplace by enforcing federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination. More information is available at www.eeoc.gov. Stay connected with the latest EEOC news by subscribing to our email updates.
