Camden Place Health & Rehab, LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company that operates a nursing home in Greensboro, N.C., unlawfully refused to accommodate a disabled employee and subsequently discharged her because of her disability, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.

Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Sued by EEOC for Disability Discrimination

Britthaven, Inc. and its successor, Principle Long Term, Inc., operators of a nursing and rehabilitation center in Henderson, N.C., discriminated against an employee with a disability and then unlawfully discharged her, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed today.  Britthaven, Inc. operated a nursing and rehabilitation center known as "Britthaven of Henderson" until December 2010, at which time the operation was transferred to Principle Long Term, Inc. and the name of the facility was changed to "Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center."

EEOC Settles Disability Discharge Suit  Against Scooter Store

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has settled a disability discrimination lawsuit against The Scooter Store, a nationwide, Texas-based retailer, the agency announced today. The terms of the settlement require The Scooter Store to pay money damages to a disabled former employee and to make changes designed to prevent discrimination and retaliation.

Mobility Works Sued for Sex Discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed suit today against Akron, Ohio based WMK, Inc. d/b/a Mobility Works for discharging a top female sales associate at the Saginaw, Michigan store. The EEOC alleged in its suit that Mobility Works violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act by firing Pamela Miller because of her sex.

American Samoa Government and EEOC Settle Age Discrimination Suit

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today announced that it settled an age discrimination lawsuit against the American Samoa government on behalf of a class of older workers who were allegedly forced into retirement or reassigned into undesirable positions to free slots for young people.   The U.S. territory agreed to a process for government-wide reinstatement of ousted older workers and to extensive relief to prevent age discrimination.
