Please be advised that, you have the option to schedule a telephone interview, an interview by video with an EEOC representative, or an in-person interview at our office.  Individuals who come into the office without an appointment will be screened for appropriate follow-up. Scheduling an interview is strongly recommended and individuals with appointments will be given priority.

There are strict deadlines for filing a charge of discrimination, please review the information in the timeliness tab or call 1-800-669-4000. 

For individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, you can reach EEOC by videophone at 1-844-234-5122. If you have a disability which prevents you from accessing the Public Portal or you otherwise have difficulty with accessing the portal, please call 1-800-669-4000.

The Charlotte District Office is open to the public for walk-ins on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Individuals who come into the office without an interview appointment will be screened for appropriate follow-up. If staffing levels permit, walk-in interviews may be available in certain circumstances, but scheduling an interview is strongly recommended. Individuals with appointments or with an imminent filing deadline will be given priority.

You are encouraged to visit the EEOC Public Portal ( https://publicportal.eeoc.gov/) to schedule an intake interview using the options for a telephone, virtual (computer) appointment, or in-person appointment. The Charlotte District Office is located on the 4th floor at 129 West Trade Street in Charlotte, North Carolina 28202.  When you arrive in the building, please sign in at the building’s front desk in order to take the elevator to the 4th floor intake lobby.

Paid parking or validation is not provided by the EEOC, but there are numerous paid parking facilities convenient to the office location, including one attached to 129 West Trade Street. There are also various public transportation services conveniently available to this address.
