Kristen M. Foslid Appointed Regional Attorney

MIAMI – Kristen M. Foslid, a 14-year attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), was appointed regional attorney for EEOC’s Miami District effective April 21, the federal agency announced today.

As regional attorney, Foslid will lead the district’s legal unit, conducting trial litigation and providing legal advice and other support to district staff responsible for investigating charges of discrimination.

EEOC General Counsel Karla Gilbride said, “Ms. Foslid is an exceptional attorney and leader. The EEOC is fortunate to have her at the helm of the Miami legal unit.”

“I am honored to be selected and look forward to continuing my work with the outstanding legal and enforcement staff in the Miami District,” Foslid said.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the George Washington University Law School, Foslid has worked at the EEOC since 2011, first as a trial attorney and supervisory trial attorney, and since 2022 as assistant regional attorney. At the EEOC, she developed and litigated significant systemic and individual cases involving a range of issues and resulting in millions of dollars for victims of discrimination.

She is also an Executive Council member of the Florida Bar Labor & Employment Law Section. Before coming to the EEOC, Foslid worked for Hogan Lovells and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Patricia A. Seitz in the Southern District of Florida.

The Miami District Office’s jurisdiction includes Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The EEOC prevents and remedies unlawful employment discrimination and advances equal opportunity for all. More information is available at www.eeoc.gov. Stay connected with the latest EEOC news by subscribing to our email updates.
