EEOC EdCon: Get Involved

Professional Standards Committee

Members of the EEOC’s EEO Education Consortium (EdCon) identify and reinforce core competencies, standards of professionalism, and integrity among EEO practitioners, capturing the knowledge and experience across varied communities. Members will partner with the education committee to create a tier level program to further standardize the equal employment opportunity (EEO) field.

Education Committee

EdCon members develop timely and relevant training concepts and educational resources. Members provide and disseminate information on prevailing EEO and DEIA topics while offering continued education during EdCon meetings.

Engagement Committee

EdCon members plan events to increase networking opportunities and enhance career development. Bring members together to host mission specific activities that introduce leading and promising practices across the Federal government.

Mentorship Program

EdCon has a one-year mentoring program for EEO professionals employed throughout the Federal government. This mentoring program will support efforts from the EEOC’s Office of Field Operations to address identified skill gaps in the EEO community. It will also provide support for EEO employees from underserved communities under Executive Order 14035: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in the Federal Workforce. Non-supervisory EEO employees at General Schedule (GS) 11 to GS-13 levels or equivalent will have the opportunity to be mentored by more senior EEO employees at the GS-14 to GS-15 and Senior Executive Service (SES) levels or equivalent for at least one hour every other week. Both mentors and mentees will participate in six sessions led by EEOC Senior Executives to further enhance the mentoring experience. The mentorship program is limited to 50 mentoring pairs.

If you have materials, events, recommendations, or information that would benefit the EdCon community, please email edcon@eeoc.gov
