EEOC Philadelphia District Office Moves

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia District Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has moved to 801 Market Street, Suite 1000, Philadelphia, PA 19107-3127, the federal agency announced today.

The Philadelphia District Office is responsible for processing charges of discrimination against private, state and local government employers in most of Pennsylvania, Delaware and parts of New Jersey, and for conducting hearings regarding complaints against federal government employers in this geographic area.

Due to the current health situation, EEOC employees are encouraged to telework until further notice. This step allows the EEOC to continue to enforce the nation's employment anti-discrimination laws while taking measures to keep its employees and the public safe. Accordingly, the Philadelphia District Office has temporarily stopped conducting in-person intake interviews and will not accept walk-ins at this time.

Individuals who wish to file a charge of discrimination are encouraged to visit the EEOC Public Portal (https://publicportal.eeoc.gov/) to schedule an intake appointment by telephone. The system can also be accessed by going directly to our website at https://www.eeoc.gov.  If you are near a filing deadline, please call 1-800-669-4000. For more information on filing deadlines, please go to our website at https://www.eeoc.gov/field-office/philadelphia/timeliness

The EEOC is also encouraging federal employees in the federal sector EEO process to file requests for hearings and appeals electronically through the EEOC Public Portal.

Anyone who cannot use the portal may call the EEOC at 1-800-669-4000 to begin the process of filing a charge. Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing may reach EEOC by videophone at 1-844-234-5122.

The Philadelphia District continues to mediate EEOC charges of discrimination. The mediations are currently being conducted through virtual meetings or by telephone conference call. If you have a charge pending in the EEOC Philadelphia District Office that you are interested in mediating, or if you would like one of our mediators to give your organization an overview of our mediation program and process, please contact our ADR Coordinator, Stephanie Marino, at stephanie.marino@eeoc.gov or 267-589-9774.

We also are conducting virtual outreach and fee-based training. For more information, please contact our Outreach and Education Coordinator, Mary Tiernan, at mary.tiernan@eeoc.gov or 267-589-9787.

The EEOC’s Philadelphia District Office is one of four offices in the Philadelphia District, which has jurisdiction over Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and parts of New Jersey and Ohio.

The EEOC advances opportunity in the workplace by enforcing federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination. More information is available at www.eeoc.gov. Stay connected with the latest EEOC news by subscribing to our email updates.
